Yesterdays Results And Todays Live Games, Last of 2007
Sunday, 30 December 2007
One big upset with Man Utd loosing to West Ham (although the with the number of times that the hammers have done a number on Manchester United hardly a huge surprise).

Birmingham 1 - 1 Fulham (0 - 1)
Chelsea 2 - 1 Newcastle (1 - 0)
Portsmouth 0 - 1 Middlesbrough (0 - 1)
Sunderland 3 - 1 Bolton (2 - 1)
Tottenham 6 - 4 Reading (1 - 1)
West Ham 2 - 1 Manchester Utd (0 - 1)
Wigan 1 - 2 Aston Villa (1 - 0)
Everton 1 - 4 Arsenal (1 - 0)

Only 2 games today to finish of 2007 and that's Derby - Blackburn and Manchester City - Liverpool. Both games are available live on Sky Sports in the UK* or you can try Live3 on TVAnts or True1 on SOPCast.

*Just a side note and a bit of a rant but I'm getting really fed up with almost EVERY Liverpool game being picked up live by Setanta and Sky Sports. Live coverage has always been dominated by the big four teams but I can only assume that this year Liverpool have made some sort of private deal. I'm not a Liverpool fan and if possible I'd like to be able to watch other teams through my overly bloody expensive satellite box from time to time. I wouldn't mind quite as much if they attracted the biggest viewing figures, but they don't. Until Sky and Setanta can make some effort in showing a wide variety of teams then the number of people watching live streams on the internet is going to grow and grow, looks like it's the only way for most of us to watch our teams live!

Free Way Of Getting A Commercial "Watch TV On PC " Product
Saturday, 22 December 2007
It's very rare that I do 2 posts in 1 day but I just had to mention this. I've just found a way of getting a commercial "Watch TV on PC" product for free. These types of things generally give you access to hundreds if not thousands of streamed channels and can be a great way of watching live sports. This type of streaming software normally costs $30,$40,$50++ but by using a system called TrialPay you can get it for free.

Just follow the link, and complete one of the offers from the many partners:-

22.12. 15:00 Aston Villa - Manchester City
22.12. 15:00 Bolton - Birmingham
22.12. 15:00 Fulham - Wigan

23.12. 15:10 Blackburn - Chelsea

Sky Sports are showing 3 games (all in glorious HD), Aresenal v Spurs, Newcastle v Derby and Blackburn Chelsea. Setanta are covering the Liverpool Portsmouth game (suprise surprise, I'm sure Setanata have signed some sort of a clause to show so many Liverpool games, wouldn't be so bad if they weren't shit more often than not). There are also covering the lunch time kick off tomorrow between Man Utd and Everton.

As far as live streaming goes you can watch the Arsenal Tottenham game on True 1 (SOPCast) or Live3 (TVAnts). Borough, west Ham is on Star Sports on SOPCast. Villa, Man City is showing on Live3 on TVAnts and finally Liverpool, Portsmouth is on True1 (SOPCast).

Carling Cup Quarter Finals
Monday, 17 December 2007
Here's the full list of Premier League results from the weekeend just gone :-

Birmingham 1 - 1 Reading (1 - 0)
Derby 0 - 1 Middlesbrough (0 - 1)
Manchester City 4 - 2 Bolton (1 - 2)
Portsmouth 0 - 1 Tottenham (0 - 0)
Sunderland 1 - 1 Aston Villa (1 - 0)
West Ham 0 - 2 Everton (0 - 1)
Wigan 5 - 3 Blackburn (3 - 1)
Fulham 0 - 1 Newcastle (0 - 0)
Liverpool 0 - 1 Manchester Utd (0 - 1)
Arsenal 1 - 0 Chelsea (1 - 0)

Sky Sports much hyped Show Down Super Fabulous "Shit Hot" Sunday or whatever they called it was a major load of crap. As seems to be the way with the Premier League at the moment when the top teams go at it the games tend to be boring affairs. The Liverpool, Manchester United game in particular was as dull as dish water. Perhaps the only saving grace on Sunday was the last 20 minutes in the Arsenal, Chelsea game when all caution was gone and both teams just went for it. A great 20 minutes of end to end entertainment. I can't help thinking that maybe the stakes have got too high and that managers are too scared of losing to risk trying to win?

Anyway, forget all that because this week there are some "great on paper" all Premier League Carling Cup Quarter final matches to look forward to.

18.12. 19:45 Manchester City - Tottenham
18.12. 20:00 Blackburn - Arsenal
19.12. 19:45 Chelsea - Liverpool

I fancy Man City, Blackburn and Liverpool to go through.

Big Weekend Ahead
Friday, 14 December 2007
Not that the huge amounts of TV money could EVER influence than random nature in which the Premier League fixture list is done but for the second year in a row we are all going to be treated to a showdown shoot-out on Sunday. Around Sunday lunchtime Manchester United will make the short journey to play Liverpool whilst later on in the day an in form Chelsea go to the Emirates to take on Arsenal. Just to show Setanta who's still the daddy Sky Sports will be showing both games live whilst Setanta have to make do with showing the Fulham Newcastle game on Saturday evening.

The way the top 4 teams have been playing this season I would guess that absolutely nothing will be decided this weekend as they all look more than capable of losing plenty more games. Just for the record I think Man Utd will nick it at Liverpool and Chelsea will do one over Arsenal.

Full fixtures for the weekend are as follows, details on alternative ways of watching the games live to come on Saturday and Sunday:-

15.12. 15:00 Birmingham - Reading
15.12. 15:00 Derby - Middlesbrough
15.12. 15:00 Manchester City - Bolton
15.12. 15:00 Portsmouth - Tottenham
15.12. 15:00 Sunderland - Aston Villa
15.12. 15:00 West Ham - Everton
15.12. 15:00 Wigan - Blackburn
15.12. 17:15 Fulham - Newcastle
16.12. 13:30 Liverpool - Manchester Utd
16.12. 16:00 Arsenal - Chelsea

No More Undefeated Records
Monday, 10 December 2007
Well that was an interesting weekend wasn't it? Arsenal and Liverpool managed to lose the last 2 undefeated records in the Premier League in quite some style. Arsenal have dropped 5 points in the last 2 games, is this the first signs of their young squad starting to bottle it or is it just down to tiredness? Liverpool on the other hand were well beaten by Reading putting even more pressure on Rafa Benitez. I quite like Benitez but having the pressure of over demanding/no patience American owners might just be too much for him. It's all such a different atmosphere to that before the take over. Next weekend should really help to separate the men from the boys with Arsenal playing Chelsea and Liverpool playing Man Utd, how strange that the random fixtures machine always seems to pull these 2 games out for the same weekend.

This Weekends Results
Aston Villa 1 - 3 Portsmouth (0 - 2)
Chelsea 2 - 0 Sunderland (1 - 0)
Everton 3 - 0 Fulham (0 - 0)
Manchester Utd 4 - 1 Derby (2 - 0)
Newcastle 2 - 1 Birmingham (1 - 1)
Reading 3 - 1 Liverpool (1 - 1)
Middlesbrough 2 - 1 Arsenal (1 - 0)
Bolton 4 - 1 Wigan (2 - 1)
Tottenham 2 - 1 Manchester City (1 - 0)
Blackburn 0 - 1 West Ham (0 - 0)

Saturday Premier League Live - 08/12/07
Saturday, 8 December 2007
Plenty of live action to keep you busy today, let's face it the weather isn't fit for anything. So if you're looking for any excuses to avoid the Christmas shopping then the following should do.

Aston Villa - Portsmouth, available on Sky Sports in the UK. SOPCast is also showing the game live on channels True 1 and Makaiko Sports. If that doesn't work you might want to try Live3 on TVAnts.

Newcastle United - Birmingham City, try all the live channels (Live 1- Live8) on TVAnts.

Everton- Fulham, try all the live channels (Live 1- Live8) on TVAnts.

Manchester United - Derby County, showing live on True1 on SOPCast (normally excellent quality), failing that Live2 and Live3 on TVAnts. Also on time delay on Guangdong Sports.

Chelsea - Sunderland, Star Sports works on both SOPCast and TVAnts.

Reading - Liverpool, Setanta are covering this one live in the UK. Is it only me or do they seem to cover most Liverpool games live? Is there some sort of secret deal in place to show Liverpool live on Setanta at every opportunity? Elsewhere, Star Sports, Live3, True3 and Makaiko Sports are all showing this game live.

(Just a little note about the Mayweather Hatton fight. The fight will be live from 1am UK time on either Makaiko Sports Premium or Makaiko Sports 2 on SOPCast) Me, I'm going down the Sky Sports route with a few beers on board, just hope I'm still awake when it all kicks off.

The Boys Did Good
Friday, 7 December 2007
Performance of the week has to got to Newcastle who by defying the critics managed to stop Arsenal pulling ahead at the top of the Premier League. Newcastle's kickers played their hearts out to stop the flair of Arsenal and in all honesty Arsenal appeared to be hanging on for the last 20 minutes (even if a few decisions did go Newcastle's way). This season looks like it has the potential to be the closest for a long time with the Christmas table surely going to be very tight at the top. It seems that this year every time a time seems to pull away they slip up drawing them back into the mix. Arsenal, Manchester United, Liverpool and Chelsea all look like they could do well although Man Utd and Arsenal do seem to have a slight edge.

This weekends fixture look like:-

08.12. 12:45 Aston Villa - Portsmouth
08.12. 15:00 Chelsea - Sunderland
08.12. 15:00 Everton - Fulham
08.12. 15:00 Manchester Utd - Derby
08.12. 15:00 Newcastle - Birmingham
08.12. 17:15 Reading - Liverpool
09.12. 13:30 Middlesbrough - Arsenal
09.12. 15:00 Bolton - Wigan
09.12. 15:00 Tottenham - Manchester City
09.12. 16:00 Blackburn - West Ham

Lots of these Premier League games will be availabe live, full details tomorrow.

Weekends Results Plus Ways Of Watching Man Utd Fulham Live
Monday, 3 December 2007
These are the Premier League results from the weekend just gone

Chelsea 1 - 0 West Ham
Blackburn 3 - 1 Newcastle
Portsmouth 0 - 0 Everton
Reading 1 - 1 Middlesbrough
Sunderland 1 - 0 Derby
Wigan 1 - 1 Manchester City
Aston Villa 1 - 2 Arsenal
Liverpool 4 - 0 Bolton
Tottenham 2 - 3 Birmingham

My personal highlight of the weekend was the last minute winner for Birmingham, I laughed so much I nearly shat! I've now got a deep hatred for Spurs after the way they sneaked around behind Martin Jol's back so it was nice to see them lose. The reaction of some of their players throwing themselves on the ground was priceless.

Tonight's game is between Man Utd and Fulham. If you are in the UK you can catch the game live on Setanta Sports. The game will also be showing live on channel True 1 on SOPCast and channels live1, live2, and live3 on TVAnts.
